3.Friday:
a.Painting in Hico. The general plan is to meet at theBlue Star(112 S. Pecan St.) at 1:00 Friday afternoon and spread out from there.
Nothing is a “must.”
Come when you want, eat where you want and paint what you want.
b. Dinner at 6:30 at the Koffee Kup Restaurant. It’s at 300 2ndStreet, right on Highway 67 in town. Big on home-made pies.

To allow plenty of time plan to leave Hico around 8:30. Keep fingers crossed for wildflowers. We’ll email printed directions to the ranch to those who are going and extra copies will be available when we get to Hico.

5.Where to eat:
a.There are plenty of places in Hico. QR code on the attached brochure lists them all.
6.Where to paint:
a.Almost everything is on Pecan Street or a few blocks from it. Lots of 1890 refurbished limestone buildings. There are trees, a little bandstand and lots to explore and paint.
b.Bosque River is just south of town, about 5 blocks from Pecan Street. There’s a city park there, the river, an old iron bridge that is interesting and some grain elevators and old store building that has been turned into a rock-climbing amusement but the old place looks cool and could be a neat painting.
c.There are a few Victorian houses north of Highway 67 off Pecan Street, but you have to hunt around for them.
7.Billy the Kid. There is some town lore about him and a little museum on Pecan Street that may or may not be worth a gander.
8.Wiseman House Chocolates at 406 South Grubbs Street (right next door to Koffee Kup) has all kinds of chocolates made right in Hico, great free samples and peanut brittle to remember.
