This webpage details the One Day Classes offered by Southwestern Watercolor Society.

In addition to One Day Classes, SWS also offers six Multi-Day Workshops per year: 3 in the spring and 3 in the fall.

Seeing the forest and the trees: Painting luminous aspens in snow

Cecy Turner class-05/17/2025

In this class Cecy will lead participants in exploring the luminous and reflective qualities of both aspen trees and snow. Her techniques translate beautifully to all kinds of subjects, and the class will include demonstration, painting time and constructive feedback.

"While enjoying the effects of letting the colors mearge on the paper, we'll create luminous colors in on the aspen tree bard itself," Cecy said. "We will paint the big picture through simplifying the shapes, then adding realistic detail to describe the beautiful bark of the aspens."

Payment in full is required for our One-Day Classes at time of registration.

ONE-DAY CLASSES POLICY:

The one-day local classes will offer watercolorists the opportunity to broaden their experience under the guidance of accomplished local artists.

Workshop enrollment is typically limited to 15-20 participants. Reservations are accepted in the order in which they are received. Wait lists are also formed in the order that requests are received.

There is no deposit with one-day classes. Payment will be made in full at the time of registration and the workshop refund policy will be followed.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

The cancelling member shall contact the One Day Class Coordinator as soon as possible to facilitate replacement. The SWS wait list has first priority over other students who are not on the wait list.

Upon a student’s cancellation of a class at least one month prior to the start date of the One Day Class, the fee is 100% refundable.

Upon a student’s cancellation less than one month prior to the start date of the class, the fee is refundable only if the space is filled and paid for.

There are no refunds for no-shows or withdrawals the day of the class.

SWS reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment or other reasons. If SWS cancels a class, applicants will receive a full refund.
